New from Year One are these beautiful cast 17" Magnum 500 wheels. Available in 17"x8" (P/N MWM178K) and 17"x9" (P/N MWM179K), they featue a 4.5" backspacing and 4.5" bolt pattern. The spokes are black powder coated with a machined lip. Sold as a set for $925.99 plus shipping, they include 4 wheels, 4 center caps and 20 lug nuts. All you need is the correct AMC center wheel decal (available on eBay), chrome steel valve stems, and 17" tires mounted and balanced and you are good to go. You can aso buy the wheels individually for $199.00 each (without center caps or lug nuts).
We researched these wheels and determined that you can get z-rated tires in 245x45ZRx17" in the front and back or staggered 245x45ZRx17" front and 275x40ZRx17" rear tires. These sizes have the same overall diameter as factory AMX and Javelin tires (25.67") so your speedometer accuracy remains unaffected. NOTE: You "may" need to do some minor tweaking to your front / rear fenders for proper clearance (depending on your AMC vehicle). You can take your AMC to any Discount Tire store for custom wheel measurement fitting.
