Tech Tip: AMC alignment & front suspension

First, I recommend getting Firestone's Lifetime Alignment (Firestone will set alignment angles every 6,000 miles or whenever needed for FREE as long as you own your car).

Set your toe out to a total of 3 degrees.  At first, you'd think this will wear your tires out but the extra wear is minimal AND worth it.  Why?  This setting will greatly improves on center tracking, road feel and helps prevent steering drift / correction.

Install Proforged Billet Aluminum Tie Rod Sleeves.  These HD tie rod sleeves help prevent flex which causes excessive vibration through the steering wheel.
Install Moog HD Upper & Lower Forged Ball Joints.  These HD ball joints will stand the test of time and get you the best possible performance.  They are lifetime warrantied from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Install urethane ball joint boots, strut rod bushings and front spring cushions.  The aftermarket rubber products just don't seem to hold up well.  By contrast, the urethane components are much higher quality and won't blow out on you.  Think of them as insurance for your suspension!

Install Moog HD Pitman Arm.  The factory pitman arm can become sloppy over time (just crawl under your car and grab the pitman arm...if it has play in it or it feels loose, it's time to replace it).  The result is lost road feel and sloppy steering feedback.  This Moog HD design is forged, greasable and features a lifetime warranty from O'Reilly Auto Parts!
